Finalist Love

The Top 5

The Top 5

In a little under three weeks, over 60 young women submitted auditions for the role of romantic lead in the new video by Low vs Diamond.

Even though three weeks is not a lot of time, tons of the videos were quite creative. There was witty dialogue, cool montages, and plenty of displays of athleticism.

Basically, we never cease to be amazed at the amount of creative output from all of you.

The Top 5 have been posted. Make sure you vote for the actress you think should star in the video. Watch each video and give your honest assessment. You make this system work!

Notes from Romania

After a couple of days of being jet-lagged and unable to sleep, I finally got to go to the set. I was certainly overwhelmed, not only by the dozens of people I met, half of which had Romanian names, but also by the enormous lot on which the movie was being filmed.

Music Video Finalists Announced

The Top 5 ideas for Low vs Diamond’s next music video have been announced. The effort and creativity that went into all of your submissions blew away our judges, and they really had their work cut out for them. At the end of the day, so many of the entries would have made great music videos for Don’t Forget Sister - so the judges felt compelled to recognize five additional pitches as honorable mentions.

Storyboarding Resources

First, let’s just get it out of the way. It doesn’t matter if you can’t draw. Seriously. The point of a storyboard is to illustrate your concept. It allows you to prove your chops as a director. But there’s no need to spend hours perfecting every panel. (You might miss the contest deadline, among other frustrations.)

Some directors are famous for sketching super simple storyboards, including Sir Ridley Scott, who was known for his Ridleygrams, who also co-founded RSA Films, which happens to be the company the winner will be working with to produce Low vs Diamond’s music video. Coincidence?

Read on to check out some excellent storyboarding resources.
